OCEAN GROVE SUMMER BAND

Founded by Harry D. Eichhorn in 1953 to offer musicians a place to perform and enjoy standard band literature, the Ocean Grove Summer Band is proud to begin our 73rd season tonight.

The band is currently under the direction of Eliot Prowse and offers an interesting and challenging way to keep playing during the summer season. We present a different concert each week, and members are invited to play as often as they can, whether it’s “just” one week, or the entire season.

Please join us in the Boardwalk Pavilion at 7:30pm each Wednesday in July and August for free summer concerts. We will return to the Great Auditorium for our annual formal concert on Wednesday, August 20th at 7:30 pm.

Visit www.oceangrove.org for information on worship opportunities, music programs, activities for children and teens, and beach information.

AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL

O beautiful for spacious skies,

For amber waves of grain,

For purple mountain majesties

Above the fruited plain.

America! America!

God shed His grade on thee,

And crown thy good with brotherhood

From sea to shining sea.

YOU’RE A GRAND OLD FLAG

You’re a grand old flag,

You’re a high-flying flag,

And forever in peace may you wave.

You’re the emblem of the land I love,

The home of the free and the brave.

Ev’ry heart beats true

‘Neath the red, white, and blue,

Where there’s never a boast or brag,

But should auld acquaintance be forgot,

Keep your eye on the grand old flag.

AMERICA

My country ‘tis of thee,

Sweet land of liberty,

Of thee I sing.

Land where my father died!

Land of the pilgrim’s pride!

From ev’ry mountain side

Let freedom ring.

BATTLE HYMN OF THE REPUBLIC

Mine eyes have seen the glory

Of the coming of the Lord;

He is trampling out the vintage

Where the grapes of wrath are stored;

He hath loosed the fateful lightning

Of His terrible swift sword;

His truth is marching on.

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

Glory, glory, hallelujah!

His truth is marching on.
